Searching for PDO threads before and after photos is usually the first step people take, and the most important one. Good photos show what threads can do. Knowing how to read them shows you what threads can do for you.
How Results Develop Over Time
Because of this timeline, a fair "after" photo should be taken at least 4–12 weeks after treatment, not on the day.
Typical Results by Treatment Area
The drawings below are simplified illustrations of the kind of change each area typically shows. They are not patient photographs. Ask your practitioner for unretouched photos of their own patients.
Jawline & jowls
Cog threads lift the jowls back toward the cheek, giving a cleaner, more defined jawline. This is the most popular PDO thread area.
Cog threads6–12 threads per sideCheeks & midface
Lifting the cheek fat pad restores fullness high on the cheek and softens the nasolabial folds beneath it.
Cog threadsOften combined with fillerBrows & eyes
A subtle lift at the tail of the brow opens up the eye area and reduces a tired or heavy look.
Cog threads2–4 threads per sideNeck
A mesh of mono and screw threads firms crepey neck skin and softens horizontal "necklace" lines over two to three months.

Case Studies and Testimonials
These composite profiles are based on common patient scenarios. They show how practitioners typically tailor treatment. They are not individual testimonials.
Early jowling, age 42
Concern: a softening jawline in photos. Plan: cog threads along the jawline. Typical outcome: sharper definition at 2 weeks and firmer skin by 3 months, maintained with a top-up at around 15 months.
Tired midface, age 51
Concern: flattened cheeks and deeper smile lines. Plan: cog threads to the midface with a small amount of cheek filler. Typical outcome: restored contour and softer nasolabial folds.
Crepey neck, age 58
Concern: thin, lined neck skin. Plan: mono and screw thread mesh with a second session after 3 months. Typical outcome: gradual tightening and smoother texture.
How to Judge Before-and-After Photos
- Same lighting, angle and expression in both shots. Changes in lighting can fake a lift.
- No makeup or filters in either photo.
- Timing is stated. "After" photos taken 1–3 months out show settled, honest results.
- Similar patients to you in age, skin type and degree of laxity.
- The practitioner's own work. Not manufacturer stock images.
Realistic expectations: PDO threads typically make you look refreshed and a few years younger. They do not produce the dramatic change of a surgical facelift. The best results look like the best version of you.
